Dr. Raj Singh was born in Chicago
and grew up in
Indiana, where he attended Purdue University. He received his bachelor's
degree in 1986, his veterinary degree
in 1990, and then continued his training for another year, completing a master's
degree in animal physiology in 1991. He then moved to
California and has worked at several Bay Area animal hospitals in Santa Cruz,
Vacaville, San Jose and Los Gatos. In 2002, he attained his career-long dream of
owning his own veterinary practice when he and his wife purchased Sunnyvale Veterinary Clinic.
In addition to dogs and cats, rabbits and other
small mammals, Dr. Singh is experienced in reptile and avian (bird)
medicine.
Dr. Singh is active in the local veterinary
community, volunteering his time for the Santa Clara Valley
Veterinary Medical Association and to the Peninsula
Fix Our Ferals program, spaying and neutering feral cats. He has given presentations at several local schools
to educate young people about the veterinary profession.
Dr. Singh lives in San Jose, and when he is not busy at the clinic or with his
volunteer work, he enjoys bike racing for
San Jose Bike Club, competing in triathlons, mountain
biking, swimming, running and spending time with his wife Melissa, their two daughters,
and their two cats and two dogs.
